Bicycling for climate protection and health

2nd place: Mayser active for the region with even more employees

For the fourth time already, the city of Lindenberg took part in the campaign “Stadtradeln” [City Cycling]. A team from Mayser also diligently collected bicycle kilometres for 21 days and thus saved a fair amount of CO2 emissions.

Since 2008, “Stadtradeln” has served for climate protection and the promotion of bicycle traffic. The campaign is supported by the Climate Alliance, the largest network of cities, municipalities and administrative districts for the protection of the world’s climate, with more than 1,700 member municipalities in 26 countries in Europe. Each of these municipalities is dedicated to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by ten percent every five years.

Mayser supports this campaign and was involved again with a team this year. Even more employees than last year got enthusiastic about “Stadtradeln”. Thanks to 33 participants, Mayser was able to finish second as the second largest team. Together, 661.9 kg of CO2 could be saved with 4,661 kilometres on the bike. The most active cyclist of Mayser alone finished 720 kilometres in 21 days between June 19th and July 9th.

Even if the campaign itself, the health aspect and the team spirit of the 33 employees were already an asset, two cyclists could additionally enjoy winning an air pump and a bicycle helmet during the daily raffles.
