Unique team experience for our Mayser Team

On the 25th of September, all eyes in running sport were on the twin cities Ulm and Neu-Ulm.

The Einstein Marathon has long since become a major event in the region. In addition to athletic ambition, the main focus is on team spirit. This concept is also what attracted Mayser: The company's team of 38 runners, from the two German locations Ulm and Lindenberg, celebrated their debut at the starting line.

The Mayser Team could have hardly hoped for better conditions for its first marathon start. Pleasant late summer weather with runner-friendly temperatures delivered optimal conditions for the nearly 11,000 entrants in various disciplines.

Runners in the Mayser Team were able to score with their stamina. The 38 team members finished a total of 363 km divided into the distances 5 km, 10 km and 21 km. This also earned them great recognition from the Executive Board. Living up to the motto on the company T-shirt “Mayser Team since 1800”, motivation was high and together the team was even able to exceed their goal. Some of the ladies on the team unfortunately got caught in traffic on their way from Lindenberg to Ulm and decided on the spot to change participation from the planned 5 km Fitness Run to the City Run, which started later but was twice as long. Managing Director Thomas L. Zawalski was obviously impressed: “I was especially thrilled with the exceptional team spirit and the sense of community between the employees from Lindenberg and Ulm.”

This team experience also included the training time of the individual teams, who gave their best even before Sunday's marathon. This meant that both the competition and the training constituted health-promoting measures and motivation for future activities.

Finally, the Executive Board would like to kindly thank all participants and organisers for their support at this great event.

“We are delighted that so many employees have pledged their allegiance to the Mayser Team”, says Winfried Wanka, Director of HR & Legal Department.
