Innovative thinking begins in the training phase
Whether in an IT project or a marketing campaign: Comprehensive project management is the key to success. But how can one of the numerous new methods be optimally adapted to a project and a team? Mayser is continuously in search of pioneering ideas in order to further increase the effectiveness of projects and processes. That is why a bachelor student of the Neu-Ulm University wrote her final thesis this year at Mayser on the subject “Agile project management for trade fair organisation”. The thesis focuses on adapting the Scrum method to trade fair planning at Mayser.
Modern training with advanced methods
For the primary research as the basis for the thesis, the bachelor student organised a workshop with co-workers from different departments and locations. Since a trade fair requires the cooperation of many different departments, interdisciplinary and agile work methods served as the basis for optimisation of the trade fair organisation process. The workshop participants worked together to develop the single aspects that are important for dynamic project management in trade fair planning. The result: a complete description of the modified Scrum formula that can be implemented within the company. The goal of further increasing the efficiency of the trade fair planning was therefore achieved in full.
The student was assisted by an apprentice from Lindenberg who is currently undergoing training in the marketing department in Ulm. Pursuing a course of training or studies at Mayser means more than just learning the chosen occupation. Students and apprentices at Mayser are given freedom for individual development, and the opportunity to participate in varied and interesting tasks, while acquiring a sense of responsibility and learning to apply modern work methods. Close cooperation between trainees and students is also encouraged by Mayser, to allow young talents to reap the benefits of both forms of learning and to develop their full potential.
