A good deed for Ulm’s "Aufschnaufhaus"

Mayser apprentices are volunteering

Personal responsibility and social competencies are supported and encouraged during the training at Mayser. Social actions have taken place time and again for many years.

The “Aufschnaufhaus” is on the edge of the city of Ulm. It offers children and young people with handicaps short-term accommodation and care. For this purpose, an idyllic green wellness oasis was created in which guest can breathe and take a vacation from everyday life. The family members are also temporarily relieved. For many years already, the apprentices at Mayser have become involved in this institution of the Lebenshilfe Donau-Iller within the scope of a social project.

During the first July weekend, several apprentices again demonstrated their great social commitment and spent one day on site together with their instructor and a guide from the metalworking shop to install the a terrace porch without payment. The team could not only deepen technical skills, the social aspect was also important for everyone involved in the project. “I am very proud of our apprentices who have used their leisure time to do something like this and donate their work. A truly great action,“ said the delighted Training Supervisor Ralf Michael.

After the work was done, the Aufschnaufhaus personnel organised a small barbecue as a thank-you.
