At the 1st DACHSER indoor football tournament Mayser conceded the fewest goals

Mayser showed tremendous team spirit on the pitch

Eight company teams were pitted against each other in Neu-Ulm on February 24th. Showing great tenacity and fairness, the players proved to be ambitious athletes on top of being dependable co-workers.

Celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, the Mayser football squad had never before played together in their current formation. All the more impressive was the fifth place the team managed to achieve. Proving a real roadblock, goalie Ralf Michael foiled nearly all scoring chances and conceded the fewest goals overall. Finishing as the top scorer of the Mayser squad, Selami Zehiroglou set himself apart from the rest of his outfield team-mates.

“During the group stage, we went head to head with the two strongest teams, who both later advanced to the final. Our team held their own against these two opponents as well”, says Ralf Michael summarising the team's performance. Prevailing in their last game, the Mayser team won a close match for 5th place in the tournament.

Attaching only secondary importance to their final ranking, all players took as much pleasure in this sports event as the spectators in attendance. “We were truly impressed with how well the event was organised by our hosts and how fairness was placed front and centre”, Ralf Michael continues. The competition concluded with an award ceremony at which the winning team was given a travelling trophy. “We are anxious to see who will win this trophy next year and look forward with great anticipation to the next regional football tournament."
